Dr. Joyce Stein grew up along the warm coasts of Southern California. Her natural love for dentistry stems back to her time volunteering as a Spanish translator at a non-profit dental clinic when she was 15 years old. Dr. Stein became a first-generation college graduate in 2008, when she graduated summa cum laude with her Bachelor's Degree in biology from the University of La Verne. She went on to become a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in 2013, and continued her dental education by completing a general practice residency at Danbury Hospital in Connecticut in 2014. With a record-breaking snowy winter in New England that year, Dr. Stein and her family decided to move back to sunny California. Today, she couldn’t feel more grateful to plant roots in San Francisco and care for her incredible, close-knit community.
At the core of her practice, Dr. Stein’s passion and focus is connecting with patients. She absolutely loves learning her patients’ stories and helping individuals achieve their healthiest, most confident smiles. Dr. Stein is excited by all of the new changes in dentistry and is active in honing her talents through continuing education. She is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry and is working toward her Fellowship. She is also a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, American Academy of Facial Esthetics, and the Spear Study Club.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Stein is happiest surrounded by family. She is married to her supportive husband, Joshua Michelangelo Stein. They have a sweet daughter and two toy poodles. You can also find Dr. Stein staying active by practicing Kenpo Karate – she’s currently a black belt!

Dr. George K. Markle attended the University of Southern California as an undergraduate, then studied at the University of Pacific Dental School where he received his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery). He began practicing general and cosmetic dentistry in San Francisco in 1978. He has gained a national reputation speaking before professional groups on topics ranging from cosmetic dentistry to “heroic” dental rehabilitation. In the San Francisco Bay Area, Dr. Markle is a visible – and audible – advocate for dental common sense. He is a regular guest on local health-oriented radio “talk” shows. When he’s away from the office, Dr. Markle enjoys the company of family and friends, traveling, hiking, skiing, running and the opportunity to explore all that the local cultures and geography has to offer.
